
We offer two weeks short-term fellowship in Phaco at Mahatme eye hospital, Nagpur. One very vital aspect of learning Phaco in two weeks is that you need to be an ECCE surgeon who is in touch with surgery. If you are well versed with ECCE, our team of trainers will take all efforts to make you a confident Phaco Surgeon.
Our specially designed two week Step wise Short-term training includes training & practice on goat’s eyeball and hands on training on “many” cases. You can get more number of cases if you are a quick learner. We offer direct – one is to one teaching, supervised hands on sessions, where trainer will be giving you feedback. Facility for video recording of surgeries can be made available. The training has 12 working days (6 days a week, Saturday being working day). With prior intimation, you may extend the training period by paying an extra cost. The training is available throughout the year.
Mahatme Eye Bank & Eye Hospital Nagpur is run by S. M. M. Eye welfare charitable trust. The S. Mahatme Memorial Eye welfare charitable trust was formulated in the year 1986, registered under the Public trust Act, 1950 (Year 1950, Rule No. 29) at the office of Registrar of Public Trust, Nagpur bearing registration number E/1183/Nagpur.
The trust is a secular body with the aim of making world beautiful for the curable blindness. The Trust is envisaged on the vision of Dr. Vikas Mahatme, an ophthalmologist of great charitable fervor and a highly sensitive and motivated individual for the cause of the acute and unattended eye care needs in this part of the country.

Dr Vikas Mahatme has had a bright professional career as an eye surgeon. He earned an international stature, evident by him being invited to demonstrate his surgical skills in various countries like Malaysia, Indonesia, Romania, Russia, Egypt, Iraq and also various places in India. Apart from being an expert surgeon and practitioner, he possesses a sharp mind as an innovating researcher. He is credited for developing ‘Woodcutter’s Nucleus Cracking’, a modern technique for phacoemulsification. He also developed a pigment for Corneal Tattooing and Filtration Enhancing knot for glaucoma surgeries.
