Our eye institute has been in operation since inception, the year 1997. We are serving the population in Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, Srikakulam, East Godavari Districts of Andhra Pradesh and bordering districts of Odisha and Chhattisgarh.

Cataract surgery is  the most commonly performed surgery in ophthalmology, and   all ophthalmologists are expected to be reasonably proficient in this surgery at the end of their training.

The need for better curriculum and well-structured goals for surgical training during residency training cannot be overemphasized.

In its effort to help promising ophthalmologists to broaden their perspectives, Sankar Foundation Eye Hospital offers short-term fellowships in in SICS for 2 months. Sankar Foundation Eye Hospital offers excellent opportunities to the fellowship candidates for developing their skills in a high volume clinical setting.

The training programme is aimed at experienced ophthalmologists who wish to familiarize themselves with this technique of cataract surgery. The surgeons who would like to master phaco-emulsification cataract surgery need to be experienced in this technique of cataract surgery.
