Course Outline of Glaucoma Fellowship at Lotus Eye
Duration: 3 months
The program aims to train Ophthalmologists in the diagnosis and treatment of Glaucoma and anterior segment diseases focusing on the areas of clinical evaluation, use of different investigative procedures and medical treatment.
E. Objective
1) To train an Ophthalmologist in clinical and surgical skill in Glaucoma management.
2) To impart training in critical appraisal of scientific literature and to analyse practice of evidence based Ophthalmology
3) To initiate and carry out research projects by a fellow

Glaucoma Department has following infrastructure for the diagnosis and management of Glaucoma patients.
1. OPD – Fully functional examination room.
2. Slit Lamp – One in Glaucoma room. We also have rooms equipped with taking slit lamp photographs.
3. Humphery Automated Perimeter HFA 750 model – The current gold standard for the diagnosis and management of Glaucoma patients.
4. Optical Coherence Tomography (Cirrus OCT) – The Cirrus OCT images and analyzes macular thickness, the retinal nerve fiber layer and the optic disc using the latest technology for high-resolution scans.
5. Ultrasound Pachymetry
Lasers
1. Nd: YAG laser for Iridotomy
2. Frequency doubled Nd: YAG laser for ALT, Suturolysis, Peripheral Iridoplasty
Operation Theatre
1. Visu 150 model operating microscope with CCTV
2. Instrumentation required for Glaucoma surgeries like Trabeculectomy, Phaco-Trabeculectomy, Glaucoma Drainage Devices and Congenital Glaucoma Surgeries.
Lotus Eye Hospital, Juhu is manned by a highly qualified and dedicated team of Ophthalmologists, Optometrists and trained Medical and Para-Medical staff.
