Medical Education Department of C L Gupta Eye Institute is an integrated department catering the educational needs of the institution and taking care of the training of long term and short term fellows, optometrists and nursing. It aims to provide its services in a manner that the institute’s vision and mission can be taken care of. With a faculty eager to teach and to transfer skills the trainees have an edge.

This institute has provided training to 32 ophthalmology fellows (national and international) including 6 long term fellows in the fields of cataract, cornea and refractive surgery, comprehensive ophthalmology, glaucoma, pediatric ophthalmology, medical and surgical retina. The Institute, also has trained over 500 students from India and abroad in various training programs for eye care personnel at different levels.

Fellowship in Optometry

The C L Gupta Eye Institute offers a one-year Optometry fellowship to candidates with a B.Optometry and a two-year fellowship to candidates with a Diploma in Optometry degree. During the course of the fellowship, fellows are posted at the comprehensive and sub-specialty departments.

Eligibility: Completed either Bachelor in Optometry or Diploma in Optometry from a UGC recognized institute on a regular mode.

Duration: 13 months/ 24 months

Fee: Stipend

Admission

Applications have to be sent to Education Department of CLGEI, after the notification appears on institute website. Admission exams and interviews take place in June and the course begins on the first Monday of the month of July, 2020.
